Using Records

Searching through the various records that are available in your local archives can be a daunting prospect. Maureen Hunt is a genealogist, who has spent many years researching family histories. She has a lot of experience in this field, and has written a series of guides to help the newcomer. Some of them are available here for you to read:

Contacting Friends and Relatives

If you are trying to make contact with relatives or old friends, your best bet is to write to:  Express & Star, 51-53 Queen Street, Wolverhampton, WV1 1ES.  Send them as much information as you can (and even a copy of old photo, if you have one), together with your name and address and a contact phone number and/or email address which they can use in the paper. Mark the letter:  "We'll Meet Again".  They may be able to include your details in their "We'll Meet Again" column, which is published regularly, in editions of the newspaper which covers all of Wolverhampton, the Black Country and surrounding areas.
