Listing: Former Osbourne Lock Works, built
between 1871 - 1889. Much altered but of historic interest.
Locally Listed, approved November 2001.
Comment: Typical industrial building, once
common in the town but now getting scarce. Lock making is usually
associated with Willenhall but Wolverhampton was once a bigger centre
and remained about as big until relatively recently. Bates' lock
works are right next door, of the same date if not earlier, and not
listed. Both buildings ought to be saved as characteristic
features in an area in need of some regeneration.
