Wolverhampton's Locally Listed Buildings

The Stamford Arms

Lime Street

Listing:  Late Victorian corner local.  Original semi-circular bar and rare surviving internal layout including a bar room, snug and lounge.  Many Victorian features survive internally, including  decorative tile work, serving hatches and ventilators.  A typical working class pub of the period, important because it remains largely unaltered.

Comment:  This area of town was being developed in the 1890s when this pub was undoubtedly built.
