The Old Still

King Street

Listing: late C18, refronted and altered c.1880.

Comment:  King Street was a new street created in the eighteenth century and consisted (mainly) of a row of  Georgian houses. Although most have now been turned into shops, they retain a strong sense of unity - except for the Old Still Inn, which keeps only the roof line and is otherwise a typically rich and lively Victorian pub front.
