Comment: This house forms a group with 9 Old
Hill (The Old Angel, formerly Rock Cottage) and 11 Old Hill (Rock House)
which stand to the right. But it also contributes to the general
view along Old Hill which also has other listed buildings further up.
The hill was the main route in to Tettenhall before the Rock cutting was
made as part of Telford's new Holyhead Road. The whole road is
much changed from Victorian times when it had come to include many
buildings which had come to be no better than slums.
