Crankhall Lane (West) Estate

The estate lies on the boundary with West Bromwich, on the eastern side of the Tame Valley, and contains the 2,000th municipal house to be built in the town, a type A756 (c) non-parlour house. The estate covers 66¼ acres and was designed to accommodate 380 houses, and 4 combined shops and houses. Areas were reserved for elementary schools (2¼ acres), playing fields (5¼ acres), allotments (6½ acres), a branch health clinic, community hall, and licensed premises.
