Horse racing has been a popular attraction in Wolverhampton for over 180 years thanks to the race courses at Broad Meadows and Dunstall Park. Right from the word go, large numbers of people came from near a far to enjoy a day at the races. Most of the country's top horses and riders have competed here, and this has been so since the early years at Broad Meadows.

Today Wolverhampton has the only race course in the West Midlands. Horses have been competing at Dunstall Park for over 120 years and it is well known throughout the country. It is also well known locally for the many other events and activities, not linked with horse racing, that take place there.
