St. Stephen's Church has an interesting past, linked to an outlying Victorian suburb. It started in a humble way as a temporary wrought-iron building and within a few decades became the handsome church that we know today. In 2008 the current church celebrates its centenary.

The story is told in the following parts:
1. Springfield
2. The First Church
3. The Second Church
4. The Third and Final Church
5. The Early Years at St. Stephen's Church
6. World War 2
7. The Post War Years

This story is based on the church history compiled by Roger Poole in 1979. I would like to thank Roy Stallard for his help in producing this history.
