This is the story of the Lloyd family, who for many generations made significant contributions to the modern world.

Descended from kings, they suffered religious persecution, and came to the West Midlands, where they founded a banking empire, large industrial concerns, played an important role in civic life, wrote poetry, and entered parliament.

Through numerous marriages, the family had direct links with many of the influential families of the day, and because of their business links, became well-known and greatly respected throughout much of the country.
